Unwrapped

I'm excited to be leading my 3rd Girls Retreat out at MCYC again this spring.
This year's theme is "Unwrapped"

We are going to be talking about "unwrapping" the gifts and talents God has given us and how we can use those talents to glorify our great God. We will also be talking about how it is good that we don't all share the same talents, continuing the theme from past years that God has created us each uniquely to be uniquely and beautifully His. The Spirit works in each of us differently and that is a beautiful and wonderful thing!

Our theme verses this year are out of Romans and 1 Corinthians:

For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching;the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness."
- Romans 12:6-8

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses."
- 1 Corinthinas 12:4-11

There is SO much ground to cover on this topic, but I'm really excited for, and confident in, the speakers and counselors we have lined up for the retreat.

Our speakers this year are: Katy Busam, Teri Butcher, Lori Manry, Rebekah Pinchback, and myself. These ladies all have wonderful stories to share about how they have learned what their talents are and how they've been able, and are able, to use those gifts and talents to glorify God and see his Spirit move in them and others.

I have no doubt God is going to do some great things through this year's retreat, and I'm excited to see what those things are!

So, if you {or someone you know} is a girl between the ages of 12-17 I hope to see you {or your friend} at MCYC for this year's retreat on April 22-24, 2016. For more info on the retreat be sure to checkout the MCYC website!
